The programme is intended to be a springboard for the next generation of female founders. It is aimed at female students, research assistants, doctoral students, post-doctoral students and graduates of the three universities in Greifswald, Stralsund and Neubrandenburg who are interested in setting up their own business.
The idea is to develop and evaluate business ideas as quickly as possible together with experienced female mentors and to learn start-up-related skills. After four months, the first round of Female Founders came to an end on 28 February - the conclusion drawn by the five participating female founders at a joint closing event was consistently positive:
Daniela Zorn, research assistant at the Digital Innovation Centre Neubrandenburg, sums up: "The exchange between the very diverse and impressive participants offered a lot of room for new impulses, but also for my own reflection on my project. Taking part in the Female Founders programme has definitely brought me closer to my dream of owning my own company."
In fact, it is becoming apparent that the contacts established over the past few months will continue beyond the immediate coaching period. Regular meetings for female founders and further working meetings are planned. "Our expectations of the programme have been met across the board, if not exceeded!" says Rima Rifai, coordinator of the incubator programme at the start-up agency Stapellauf NORD°OST°. "Our participants and mentors quickly bonded and formed effective teams. We now want to take this spirit into the second round of Female Founders."
The second round of Female Founders will begin in May 2022; once again, up to five prospective female founders will be able to network with experts from business and science.
