Mit der Hanseatischen Akademie wurde zur Jahreswende ein Startup für digitale Weiterbildung gegründet. Das Besondere: Neben der Gründung als gemeinnütziges Unternehmen wurde die Akademie auch als An-Institut der Universität Greifswald anerkannt. Ziel des Teams um Geschäftsführer Marius Schmidt ist die Verknüpfung von wissenschaftlicher Exzellenz mit der Erfahrung von Praxis-Expert*innen.

Over 160 guests attended the Night of Innovations at the Pomeranian State Museum on 16 November and were able to get to know the innovative products of over 20 start-ups from all over Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. We are delighted with the success of the event and have summarised some impressions of the evening in a video.

Our Night of Innovation was a complete success. We would like to thank all those involved, helpers and participants. We captured many moments on camera. In this article, we have put together a gallery of some of the pictures.

This year's SEGEL SETZEN! business plan competition came to a brilliant conclusion on 16 November. The "Night of Innovation" event at the Pomeranian State Museum in Greifswald was also a highlight of this year's start-up days in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Sabrina Koch, a health economics student at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, is devoting her Master's thesis to gender-sensitive medicine and diversity medicine in cooperation with a start-up.

Local ideas competition "inspired" inspires. Student creates a concept for a regional superfood café based on her experience in the family business and her studies.

From 1 October, the Hanseatic City of Stralsund will be offering start-ups rent-free space for ideas and their implementation and is inviting start-ups from all over Germany to apply for the use of office space on the Volkswerft Stralsund site until 31 August 2023.

Ship ahoy! The "Ship to Business" format has proven its worth as a networking event. Investors, start-ups and established companies from the healthcare industry meet here, and the venue is a passenger ship on the Warnow.

A retirement home with a daycare centre connection, an app that makes appointments easier, diagnostics for rare diseases - just three examples that illustrate the extraordinary range of submissions to the
UNIQUE ideas competition. The competition promotes a spirit of innovation and business start-ups in Greifswald as a centre of research.

We are delighted to be a partner university in the "Makers of Tomorrow" initiative. The project is under the patronage of Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and aims to encourage people to start their own business and inspire them to become entrepreneurs. The online course will be available free of charge this semester from 1 April 2023.

Joint projects focussing on founding and start-ups in coworking spaces are intended to bring interests and communities closer together.

What can be improved? What has been missing so far? How have the lecture series been received? With our current 3-minute survey, we want to clarify these and other questions in order to design an optimal lecture series.

"Why isn't there actually a Men's Day? Yes, there is! 364 days a year!" However, the Female Founder Pitch Day organised by Stapellauf NORD°OST° belonged entirely to women!

"Great atmosphere at our 19th Greifswald regulars' table with a great keynote speech", is how the Gründungswerft summed up the joint regulars' table on 3 March 2023 in the "Startup Zukunftswerft" - the new workspace for those interested in founding a company at the University of Greifswald.

The "Stapellauf NORD°OST°" team received a warm welcome at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in Berlin on 1 March. Dr Daniel Cracau and his team from the "InnoTechHub", which is also funded by EXIST, presented their institution and the project of the same name that they are implementing.

On 2 March 2023, the "Z4 - Centre for Life Science and Plasma Technology", a new beacon for scientific research in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, will be opened in the university and Hanseatic city of Greifswald. A great occasion for an event "GRÜNDUNGSTAGE SPEZIAL 2023". Launching NORD°OST° will be there.

The university provides spaces for the development and realisation of ideas, for networking, for communication and training and for working on start-up ideas. They were opened on 26 January 2023 at Baderstrasse 6/7.

On 17 November 2022, this year's winners of the cross-university business plan competition SEGEL SETZEN! were announced in the auditorium of the University of Greifswald. The Greifswald teams "Immolution", "acadim" and "MeerLeben" took the first three places. The "House of Krauts" team received a special prize from the University of Greifswald.

For founders and all those who want to become one!

On 2 November, the third batch of our Female Founders Programme kicked off with a digital meet-and-greet. In this round, nine young women with six exciting business ideas want to take part in the programme. We are very pleased about this great response to our programme.

For the second time, Stapellauf NORD°OST° is organising a lecture series on practical start-up theory. The title "From the idea to the start-up" is both a claim and a programme.

On 17 November 2022, this year's winners of the cross-university business plan competition will once again be chosen. Individual prizes of up to 3,000 euros and a special prize from the University of Greifswald are up for grabs.

Our Female Founders accelerator programme will now enter its third round in November 2022. The second batch of "Female Founders" concluded with a pitch event on 5 September. The participants presented the business concepts they had developed during the programme at the University of Greifswald.

The first step towards founding a company has been taken! On 8 August, we received the good news that the HanseDeeg team's application for an EXIST start-up grant had been approved. Our congratulations go to Dinah Petersen, Kathrina Ambrosius and Andreas Moll from the HanseDeeg team.

The cabinet today adopted the first comprehensive start-up strategy of a federal government. The aim of the strategy is to strengthen the start-up ecosystems in Germany and Europe. Following the cabinet's decision, implementation of the measures, which are divided into ten fields of action, will now begin.

In the neighbouring state of Schleswig-Holstein, the application phase for the Nordpreneur 2022 StartUp Competition will begin on 1 August 2022. The start-up competition for the entire North will take place in Flensburg on 23 September.

The state-wide ideas competition "inspired" organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship (ZfE) at the University of Rostock took place on 13 July 2022. The most original business ideas and pioneering research results from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern were honoured here.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs has launched a new guideline for the promotion of innovative start-ups through a living allowance - the so-called start-up grant. "Start-ups based on innovative products or services are often more risky than conventional business areas. The grant supports founders of innovative start-ups in the fields of engineering, natural sciences and the creative industries.

The jury, sponsors and audience have decided on the winners of this year's UNIQUE ideas competition. The competition promotes the spirit of innovation and business start-ups at the Greifswald research centre. The winning teams will now receive support in the further development of their ideas and in founding a company.

Groot", an intelligent plant system, and "Geniusforfuture", a matching platform, came out on top in Inspired's local decision.

Only in the shade at 30 degrees! Thanks to the early summer (or late spring) high "Yannis", our visit to Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts was a sweat-inducing experience. It wasn't the only high of the two days in Hanover. We had the opportunity to get to know NEXTER.

Out of 4041 ideas worldwide, ACCIST from Stralsund has qualified as the German team in the "RedBull Basement" student competition and will be competing against 43 countries in Istanbul next week.

Together for success - this is the concept of Female Founders NORD°OST°. In the four-month programme launched by "Stapellauf NORD°OST°", aspiring female founders benefit from the experience of established female entrepreneurs and experts from the region.

Promising business models with innovative technologies, marketing and sales concepts - that is the focus of the SEGEL SETZEN! This year's winners were announced on 16 November 2021. HanseDeeg, Bonanza and Bienenstich-Metmanufaktur took the first three places. The special prize from the University of Greifswald went to Team N-easy.

From 11 to 17 November, (potential) founders can obtain in-depth information and advice from experts - on financing, scholarships and contact points.

Interested students can easily apply for the programme until 19 October.
