Nova Innovation Campus UG

Startup, launch northeast, founding, start-up service, start-up agency, NOVA Innovation Campus, University of Greifswald

In 2019, students at the University of Greifswald launched the NOVA Innovation Campus project.

The background: many students do not know exactly what they want to do after graduating. During their studies, they would have plenty of time to try things out. The only problem is that the diverse opportunities in MV are unknown and students and graduates migrate to urban centres "to try things out".

NOVA puts an end to this game by presenting all opportunities for students at their place of study - on one platform with one click.

Because what if term papers and research papers could be used for entrepreneurial and scientific questions? And what if internships and working student jobs could develop from this, making the degree programme more practice-oriented? The answer is here: www.nova-campus.de

The team led by Sophia Hammer, Christian Berger and Konstantin Moll is inspiring with their project and has won numerous prizes, including first place in the UNIQUE Ideas Competition 2020 and the special prize in the StartUp Nordost 2020 business plan competition. Together, they are developing a prototype of their platform, business model and company with the help of the EXIST start-up grant. The North-East start-up scene can look forward to the further development of this start-up team.

GWA Hygiene GmbH

Startup, launch northeast, founding, start-up service, start-up agency, GWA Hygiene, Stralsund, Stralsund University of Applied Sciences

A success story from the Hanseatic city of Stralsund - GWA Hygiene GmbH was founded in 2015 as a spin-off from Stralsund University of Applied Sciences. Their vision: to reduce hospital infections with NosoEx, a modern monitoring system for measuring hand hygiene.

After successfully taking part in the "inspired" ideas competition organised by Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, the start-up team was awarded an EXIST grant. The start-up was successful. In addition to investors such as MiG VerwaltungsAG and High-Tech Gründerfonds, the team has received numerous awards such as the KfW Award 2018 and the LUDWIG-BÖLKOW Technology Prize 2018. The team still has many plans to support hospitals on their way to becoming smart hospitals.
