On 12 November, the winners of the OZ start-up prize were announced in Rostock. Of the 26 entries from across the state, Lisa and Andreas were able to win the €4,000 Future Prize with their idea for calorie-reduced potato products. The main ingredient is innovative: instead of carbohydrate-rich potato starch, the founders use high-fibre and comparatively low-nutrient potato fibres for their products.
For Stapellauf NORD°OST, the presentation of the OZ-Zukunftspreis to HanseDeeg is also a cause for celebration, as the start-up had its beginnings in an EXIST start-up grant at the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. HanseDeeg now produces numerous different potato products on its own equipment and in its own premises in Greifswald. And the next step is already imminent: Andreas and Lisa are going to distribute their products across "the big pond", as the low-carb trend is much more widespread in the USA than in Germany. The relevant contacts and distribution channels were initiated on a business trip to the USA in 2024.
So a lot of future for HanseDeeg. Congratulations!
