Chromatec GmbH: From Greifswald founder to world market leader.
On 24 February 2022 at 17:00, we welcome Dr Holger Hippe as the founding captain of the Chromatec GmbH. Dr Holger Hippe developed his business model in 1999 with two colleagues from a university transfer project.
The idea of producing proteins of the highest quality for diagnostics manufacturers as a service provider has grown into a small, profitable and globally recognised company. Holger Hippe is now the sole shareholder of the company and can report on his wealth of experience in dealing with co-founders, public and private investors and both solvent and defaulting customers.
After many years of endeavouring to win large corporations as customers, he is now being courted by them as a supplier worldwide. His products are now the gold standard for the diagnosis of thrombocytopenia, which in rare cases can cause fatal cerebral haemorrhage (sinus vein thrombosis) with the Astrazeneca coronavirus vaccine, for example. This is a globally recognised masterpiece by the Greifswald transfusion physicians led by Prof. Andreas Greinacher, which was achieved under extreme time pressure in spring 2021.
