Project description:
EXIST potentials is a funding measure within the framework of EXIST start-up culture. With EXIST potentials the BMWK aims to further develop the start-up networks at universities that have been created in recent years through the EXIST start-up culture programme. The aim is to implement a perceptible and activating start-up culture at universities and to create the necessary framework conditions for innovative and fast-growing start-ups from science in order to create future-proof jobs in the region in the medium term.
The start-up initiative "Stapellauf NPRD°OST" was honoured live in Berlin on 3rd December 2019 by former Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier. The University of Greifswald as lead partner and the universities of Neubrandenburg and Stralsund were among the joint winners of the EXIST-Potentials competition organised by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection.
The aim of the "Stapellauf NORD°OST°" network is to jointly realise potential in the founding of innovative start-ups in the North-East science region in north-eastern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. "Start-up NordOst" thus builds on the cooperation between the three partners and six non-university research institutions in the North-East science region that has been in place since 2014. The aim is to expand and raise the profile of the services created through networking, for example through a joint business plan competition and start-up events with partner universities. Practical start-up support is provided across all universities by an agile one-stop agency that mobilises and qualifies founders and provides individual support in the realisation of their start-up. Digital services, digital start-up portfolios and project rooms make processes more efficient. With the development of the NORD°OST° launch brand, embedded in the "Startup NORD°OST°" start-up ecosystem, and its establishment and marketing in the region and beyond, the initiative and the region itself are gaining radiance.

The StartUP Nord°Ost° project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection as part of the EXIST programme.
